Our History
In 2007, Tim and Sandy Hewitt recognized a significant need among solo pastors who often served in isolation and were frequently overwhelmed by the unique demands of small church ministry. Inspired by the biblical example of Barnabas, "the son of encouragement," they envisioned a ministry devoted to offering support, counsel, and encouragement to these pastors and their congregations. From that vision, Barnabas Enrichment Ministries (BEM) was formed.
BEM has continued to grow since its founding, adding missionaries and gifted board members, all the while developing new ways to serve pastors and churches across the country. We remain grateful for the work God has done through this ministry and look forward with anticipation to all He has prepared for its future.
