Tim & Sandy Hewitt Update 10/1/26
Summer has given way to fall, and the leaves are beginning to change. Soon the branches will be bare, cooler winds will arrive, and—after the harvest and Thanksgiving—we will begin looking forward to a white Christmas!
Change is a natural part of life. Seasons, circumstances, and ministries may change, but we are thankful that our God never does. Malachi 3:6a reminds us, “For I am the LORD, I do not change …”
While our ministry schedule is becoming busy once again, we are grateful for a busy but refreshing summer filled with family time, graduations, cousin camp, an Alaskan cruise, birthday celebrations, visits with friends, and celebrations surrounding an upcoming family wedding. Now, we look forward to new opportunities to encourage pastors and serve churches.
During the last two weeks of October, we will serve at a church in Orem, Utah. Its pastor has been called to another ministry, so while we are there, we will encourage him as he prepares to leave, support the congregation through the transition, and help the church begin searching for a new pastor.
When we return home, we will finalize plans for the BEM Small Church Enrichment Conference, scheduled for November 14th in Kokomo, Indiana. We are pleased to offer the conference again at no charge. This year’s theme, “Enjoying Intimacy with God,” highlights an area in which each of us can continue to grow. (If you would like to register to attend the conference, go here.)
Through every season of change, our desire remains the same: to serve the Lord wherever He places us. Tim serves as a deacon, teaches adult Sunday School, and fills the pulpit when our pastor is away. Sandy disciples others, participates in Bible studies, coordinates the greeters, sings in the choir, and helps with AWANA. Together, we serve on the missions committee and participate in our SeniorLife group, where Tim is one of the ministry leaders.
We have also updated our website! Philip Hewitt (our Church Technical Advisor) has generated a new look for us with more information and capability. (Okay, he’s our son too.) You can visit our new site here.
As we continue the ministry God has entrusted to us, would you please pray for these needs?
