Keller's Update 9/2/2024
September 2, 2024
Jeanne and I are both staying busy and looking forward to serving wherever we can. We as a BEM team are presently planning a Small Church Enrichment Conference in Indiana November 2, 2024. I am preparing a break-out session for Pastors entitled “The Heart of a Pastor in Worship”. The feedback we received at the previous April conference in Utah, was possibly the best conference we have done thus far. Pray for wisdom and an effective, challenging and encouraging ministry with these faithful Pastors and their congregations in the November Conference as well.
In our previous letter we mentioned a Deliberate Outreach that I was going to be involved in starting in June. Thank you so much for praying regarding this. So far, I have had the opportunity to interact with approximately 31 individuals and passed out the Gospel of John and tracts to 57. A number were open and interested in listening to the reason why it was necessary for Christ to come and die for our sins and then in three days raise from the dead, so we can have forgiveness of our sins and eternal life. One individual didn’t want to talk about God or Jesus Christ but was willing to do so briefly. Two claimed to be atheists but were willing to interact with me. Both were open to accepting additional information. I returned with books from Lee Strobel, Normal Geisler and Frank Turek. They seemed to be willing to read a particular chapter I recommended.
Pray God would continue to work in their lives to bring them to faith in Christ. Their identities are Brian, Branine, plus all the others I’ve had an opportunity to share Christ with. I still have a number of individuals whom I want to contact.
I recently had the opportunity to fill the pulpit at The First Baptist Church in Wilson, Kansas and Shawnee Heights Baptist Church in Topeka. This Fall we are serving with Awana at Bethel Baptist Church in Topeka.
I love the following scriptures:
“23The steps of a good man are ordered by the LORD, and He delights in his way…
31 The law of his God is in his heart; none of his steps shall slide.” Psalm 37:23-31
“9 A man's heart plans his way, but the LORD directs his steps.” Proverbs 16:9
Without your prayers and God’s work in the hearts of the people we are attempting to reach, nothing long term would take place. Pray we would be led by the Sprit in planning and presenting.
